CENIT@EA mourns the death of Josephine Mwikali Mbandi

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the death of Josephine Mwikali Mbandi, one of our 1st Cohort students in the EMoS programme and recent graduates.

Josephine passed away unexpectedly on 3 October 2022 at Amsterdam Airport. She was on her way to visit the project partner University of Oldenburg in Germany. As a particularly committed EMoS alumna and a former student representative she was part of a delegation from NM-AIST to Oldenburg to participate in an exchange on the further development of the project. Josephine received her Master’s certificate this year on 18 August at the Official Graduation Ceremony at NM-AIST and was an accomplished Embedded Systems Engineer. She held a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from South Eastern Kenya University.

Josephine was a beloved member of our CENIT@EA community and will be missed dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones at this unthinkably difficult time.

Josephine’s family has published an obituary for her that you can find here.
